Simple pleasure

JFK said it best: "Nothing compares to the simple pleasure of a bike ride." And, today, I honored that simple pleasure. I wish everyday started with a bike ride and a view like this.

The beginnings of a makeover

Today, I started giving our dresser a makeover. It's been around for quite awhile so a face-lift is in store. I'm excited to see the end product but thankful for the time to create!

Resolute-ion

Today, I started work on earning a cycling certification with the hope of teaching cycling classes in the near future. Today, I fulfilled a dream I've had for nearly ten years. And, for that, I'm thankful. Here's to resolute-ions.

I have voted!

Today, I made the last 10 minutes of early voting in Texas primaries. I figured I'd done enough complaining about the poor choices so I'd make sure to make my dent in the candidate selections.

Here's a reminder to vote. It's not like being a sports bystander. You are the game. Make it count.

Hope

Hope is one thing I remind myself of frequently. But, today, I'll say it again - I have hope. Whenever I think I've run down my last options, something awesome comes around. Perhaps, it's more than hope - it's determination that awesome is always in my future.

Message to my teenage self #dearme

I stumbled upon YouTube Creator's outreach for Women's History Month today and it was nothing short of awesome. Simply send a message to your former self or current youth. Empower them with your message.

Today's moment: empowerment

If you haven't made yours, do it. It will brighten your day and someone else's.

Crazy cupcakes, Valentine!

Today's moment: catching my niece in action while devouring her Valentines' Day cupcake. She rocked the goatee and the "ummmmms"! When did we stop being so carefree and willing to express our "crazy cupcake" side?

What brings out your inner kid? Cupcakes sure do!

Paper

Today's moment: counting down the days until longer hours of sunlight and more time to sit outside reading. I read a ton...online, but I crave to read paper again. And, at the top of that list is re-reading Shel Silverstein's poems.

When is the last time you read on paper?

One word: Google

#txgeg trying to break Twitter!

Today's moment: seeing all of the people lined outside of our Google Educator event. It is awesome to be able to get so many people out here just because of a common love - no food, no drinks - just Google love.

What makes you enthusiastic?

My inspiration

Day 1 of my TCEA presentation adventure and I was welcomed by a crowd outside the door. Today, it's the crowd that humbles me and excites me. I love being around enthusiastic people and I love being able to share my students' and my stories.

When was the last time you shared?
