An extra day

Today, I have an extra day. Technically, i'ts been overdue, but it's still a day for me. In many ways, it was the normal working day, but I did end it with a brand new hammock, amazing weather, and great company.

Finished work

Today, I have a finished work. For Christmas, my boyfriend bought me a latch hook kit. Not knowing anything about them, he bought me one of the largest he could find. And, being the competitive person I am, I felt compelled to finish it as fast as possible. So, tonight, I have a finished latch hook!

The hills are alive

Tonight, I have the Sound of Music. As part of my Christmas present, my parents got us tickets to see The Sound of Music and...it didn't disappoint.

Tonight, I have music, and many replays of that music!

I have voted!

Today, I made the last 10 minutes of early voting in Texas primaries. I figured I'd done enough complaining about the poor choices so I'd make sure to make my dent in the candidate selections.

Here's a reminder to vote. It's not like being a sports bystander. You are the game. Make it count.

Cheerios

Today, I have Cheerios. After three days of only eating Saltine crackers and Ginger Ale, a switch to Cheerios was welcomed. I long for the day when I can eat a more diverse diet.

But, for now, I have Cheerios. And, blurry ones at that...

Bad movies

Today, I have bad movies - Lifetime Movies to be exact - and not because I particularly enjoy them, but because they are the perfect remedy to being sick. I've found that surrounding myself in poor quality movies and crackers can cure even the worst of the stomach flu. 

Rest for the weary

After an unfortunate sickness yesterday, today was a day of rest. Sometimes, you are forced to rest - whether you'd like to or not!

Today, I have rest.

Sleep

Today, I have sleep. Though, it's been a rather busy day. For the first time in months, I slept. And, I really slept - 10.5 hours sleep. I did not wake up even once.

So, today, I had sleep and it was wonderful (like these two).

The ongoing party

Today, we had a housewarming and belated birthday party. it was the party that kept on keeping on. And, it was our first official get together at the new house.

So, today, I had a party and lots of leftovers!

Play-more

Today, I played more - literally - I played more at Mt. Playmore. It's typically a children's play zone, but tonight, they opened it up for 5 hours of adult play! Was it a workout? Yes! Was it worth it? Heck, yes!

Tonight, I have play - lots of it.

Deadpool

Tonight, I have Deadpool. We love going to the Alamo Drafthouse for their cozy seats, yummy food, and quirky atmosphere. And, after a two month hiatus, we are back!

So, tonight, I'm thankful for a night of movies and relaxation.

BBQ

Today, I have bbq. After an evening panel talk, bbq was in store. Ironworks to be exact. It's one of the best and most underrated. Plus, you don't have to wait in huge lines and you get a classic "mill" atmosphere.

Craft distractions

Today, I have craft distractions. After an extremely stressful day dealing with harassing emails, I needed something to make me forget it all. When working out didn't fix it, I resorted to crafts and...Clark. In this case, it fixed it.

Memories & Future

Today, I have memories and I have a future. It's something I have to remind myself that I have a future and, while memories will be there, the future is shapeable. Let's shape it!

Jack

Today, I have Jack. He's a donkey I met in November while we were visiting a winery in Fredricksburg, Texas. Today, as we ended our trip, I was sad to think I wouldn't see him again, but he showed up at our door, a couple of miles away from the winery.

Boots and hammocks

Today,  I have sunshine ands hammocks and they were delightful! 

Tea

After raking leaves last weekend, my body decided it did not like the air and got sick. So, today, I stayed home sick and moping. Luckily, I had some tea by my side to help with the healing process.

Bye

Today, I have a new home...for my beloved cat, Sil. She found me a year ago and I fell in love. Sadly, she's born to be an outdoors cat and the only cat. And, with three other cats, she was unable to be herself.

So, with sadness, I gave her to a co-worker with a large yard where she can roam free as the only pet.

Today, I have one less cat and a heavy heart.

Quiet home

Today, I have a quiet home. After a three-day weekend, I returned not feeling very great. I seem to get sick - without fail - every October and February. And, I felt it coming on yesterday. So, today, it was wonderful to arrive home to this gorgeous home.

Empty boxes

Today, I have empty boxes. After more than a week of moving in, I'm officially unpacked and ready to go. So, tonight, we celebrate.

Pinky Problems

Today, I am 32. I also have pinky problems according to my three-year old niece. In true cuteness, she misunderstood "promises" for "problems" and made a pact that she wouldn't let anything hurt me - I can call her anytime to be my "wing girl."

Today, I have pinky problems and I love them!

The Walker

Today, I have a walker. It's my last day as a 31-year old and sadly, not my last day to use a walker. Today, I enjoyed some rollerskating after 20 some-odd years and...practice does not make perfect.

The Walk

Today, we walked the circle around our new home during a nice evening stroll. Today, I'm thankful for night walks and restful evenings.

Clean-up

Today, I have clean-up from a scared-y cat. The joys of owning not one, not two, not three, but four cats.

And then, there were four

Today, our cats officially met. And, my family of two cats became a herd of four cats. Yes, we are now those people.

And, outside of my drama queen cat, named Satan, all are co-habituating nicely.

Middle School humor

Today, I spent a lot of time with my middle school self. I worked with other teachers to move beyond the Makey Makey banana piano so...we made a game controller out of gummy bears, playdough, alligator clips, and a Makey Makey. With a little help from Scratch, we set it so that, when each element on the controller was pressed, it said a recorded phrase. In the end, it said "my teachers are rockstars!" Now, I plan on setting this up with carpet squares outside of my office so that, when students step on the squares, it says something to encourage them into my space.

Today, I have fun.

Tinkering

Today was the first day of TCEA 2016 and I was motivated by the STEM sessions but discouraged by the lack of attendees in the academy. Despite that, I'm more motivated than ever to continue my push to encourage teachers to pursue STEM and for them to encourage their students.

And, I ended it with the results of tinkering...a great gift from +Efren Rodriguez ! A 3D printed toothbrush holder for my new place. Thank you for the thoughtful and creative gift! I'm showing it to my students!
