A few days ago, Aj gave me a book from one of my favorite entertainers, Kid President. It's the Guide to Being Awesome. The cover alone is energizing. Today's moment: opening my door and seeing my book, reminding me how awesome we are.

Pink

Today's moment: pink. I wrote my only got pink shirt today and I've been seeing pink ever since. There is nothing like neon colors to get you feeling cheerful!

The last of spring

Today, we had (most likely) our last day sub 65 degrees until October. There is something peaceful about a cloudy, cool day in the midst of a heat wave.

Sometimes, a few stickers and a colorful, singing card are all you need. I've slacked on getting my mail the past week, but opened it today to find this cheery card from my folks.

Today is the hottest day of 2015. You can see the heat rising off the pavement and sweat beads dripping off your eyelashes. Yes, it's hot. So, what better way to chill of than with a smoothie and a lake?

A day's work

Now that I have another baby niece, my mom and I decided to transform their hallway storage into a child's heaven. It's filled with flowers, bugs, trees, color, and imagination. And what's the best part? No matter what we did, it would be beautiful to children.

A little surprise

In honor of my mom's birthday, I thought a bright surprise was in order. So, I stopped and picked up the brightest thing I could find: sunflowers.

Stunna' Shades

Yes, today is sadly not a picture from my camera, but rather, an image I created. It was this simple image that created so much joy. And, it all began with a pair of shades and an idea to be creative. It's moments like these I am reminded of how happy being creative and collaborating makes me.

A room of mirrors

It's been over three months and it's more than time to have my hair "did" so... I did. Between Kaleo, Jamestown Revival, and the sunshine reflecting on the mirrors, I am relaxed. My Tuesday treat.

Holding back time

Though this clock has stopped, on days like today, I wish I could pause the real clock. There is just too much to do in too little of time.

Here comes the sun

After what feels like weeks of high humidity and clouds, the sun is out in full force today. The wind is blowing and the birds are singing. All I need now is a hammock and a pool!

A moment to rest

It's been a day of work for this Saturday. From waking up early and running tech support for the ACT to biking 40 miles, I needed a quick break. So, I stopped for a minute to take in the views during my bike ride. It's nice to give yourself a rest from time to time.

A poolside view

This year, my office is technically a storage closet, but sadly, the best office I've had at this school. And, to make it even a better commodity, a co-worker informed me that I now had a poolside view. Not too bad for a teacher, eh?

Some days call for sweets and today is one of those days. So, today, I'm treating the boyfriend and myself to Andes mint brownies. Scrumptious!

Tonight, I had an awesome treat of baby back ribs, veggies, bread, and.... Mac n' cheese. It's hard to beat a great bowl of Mac. It's my house of food.

It's all about the Buttercups

Texas has some of the best wildflowers. The Buttercup has to be one of my favorites though. It's simple yet extraordinarily intricate. It was a great day to stop and smell the flowers. When was the last time you did?

Oh the places you'll go

I bought these wooden shoes last year while at the wooden shoe tulip festival. Today, they are a reminder of my summer of travel and many adventures I'll enjoy. Here's to new adventures and summer!

A time for tea

Today, I was asked to a tea party I couldn't turn down. My nearly three year old niece decided it was time for tea and cupcakes. It's times like these I can't turn down.

Tour de bluebonnet

Skydiving was on the agenda today, but rain cancelled it. So, we followed the bluebonnets and discovered one of central Texas's finest spots. If you're ever in CENTX, check out Turkey Bend Recreational Area.

A day of making

Today, we switched up our monthly meeting to a Maker faire among the ITSs. And, I must say that all meetings should be done this way. I left energized, excited, and ready to try new things.

Some days revolve around repetitive fixing and installation. The past few weeks have been exactly that. Today, however, I had to laugh at the amount of updates I've had to run. I had to run an update to check for updates so updates can run.

The laundry dream

I threw my laundry on my bed to fold, stepped away for a few minutes, and came back to find this sight. In my laundry dreams, this "cute" sight would actually fold my clothes. My least favorite chore.

Adults need play time too

I'm one of those people who grabs the action figures and child toys at conferences. But, I'd argue that, as adults, we should not lose our inner child. Today's moment: using my"googley" figures to help me problem solve.

Springtime on the porch

It's April, the kids are counting down until the end of school, testing season is in full force, and pollen is out! But spring is as beautiful as ever from my porch. I can't wait until I have some days to sit and enjoy it.

Every Easter, my family makes an Easter cake. And true to Fennewald form, the cake continues. Let the chocolate, marshmallows and eggs begin!

A hint of summer

After a morning bike ride, we decided to explore one of my favorite areas for a hike. And we were greeted with this hint of summer. Though a little too cold today, the thought did cross my mind.

Sowing seeds

Today was a day of seeds, lots of them. From a bike ride filled with bluebonnets, a visit with my new niece, and a trip to the nursery with my mom, seeds of life were in bloom.

A night at the circus

The Thinkery is a local children's museum and also one of the best I know. Once a month, they host 21 and up nights to allow adults a time to play. Tonight, we got to enjoy a night at the circus.
